Nicholas Anthony "Tony" Geiss (born: November 16, 1924-died: January 21, 2011) was an author, producer, scriptwriter, and songwriter. He was known principally for his children's works. Tony Geiss was born in the Bronx to Alexander Geiss and Marjore Thirer. He collaborated with Don Bluth, Judy Freudberg, and Steven Spielberg for the 1986's An American Tail and 1988's The Land Before Time. Before he made those films, he used to be working as a staff writer and songwriter for the Sesame Street.

Geiss died on January 21, 2011 at the age of 86.
